Lura Karate club was opened on 20 August 1990 by sensei Geir Arild Larsen 7 Dan JKA with help from Michael Sautter 3 Dan JKA and Rune Magne Johanessen 3 Dan JKA.
Today the club has over 240 members and it is a daily activity in the dojo from morning to night. We practice traditional Shotokan karate.
The club is affiliated to JKA Norway, Norway's largest style of organization and member clubs throughout the country. Lura Karate club is also affiliated to JKA WF, Japan.
Lura Karate club also serves as Honbu Dojo, the seat of the JKA Norway.
